Welcome to the second edition of our Newsletter.  This edition is a little later than  will normally be the case.  It was determined that we would wait until after the

Annual General Meeting before we went to print.

I would like to thank all those members who voted for the vacancies on the Board prior to the AGM.  We had quite a high turnout of voters and it was pleasing to see so many members wanting to have a say in who will be guiding the Club’s

fortunes for the next two years.  May I offer my congratulations to Noel Mills on being reappointed as Captain.  Noel has  hit the ground running and there are a number of projects that are already on the drawing board for the forthcoming year.  I am certain that members will continue to see an improvement in the course and the playing conditions.

May I also congratulate David Direen and Brian Heffernan for their re-election as members of the Board.  It is very pleasing to see that current Board Members have the commitment to continue in the role.

Congratulations must also be extended to Vito Tria who joins the Board as Treasurer and I am certain that his experience and expertise will be an invaluable asset to the Club.

I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Gary Rowbottom and Wayne Gough for nominating for the positions of Captain and Board Member respectively.  Without members being willing to participate in the decision making process and being willing to express their views and to work towards making a difference then our Club would not move forward.

The AGM generated some spirited discussion between members and the Board and constructive debate is always welcome.  Without opinions being expressed it will be difficult for our Club to ensure that all options are being considered and, where possible, explored.  I encourage each and every member to have their say and to make known to members of the Board and to our Manager what they are thinking and what they consider to be best for our Club.
