The Claremont Golf Club is situated on an isolated spit of land that juts into the Derwent River. It is located close to one of Hobart’s premier tourist attractions; the Cadbury Chocolate Factory and many of Tasmania’s finest wineries. The undulating fairways of the Claremont Golf Club are surrounded by picturesque views of both the Derwent River and surrounding landscapes.
The course itself has eighteen holes with a Par of 71. More specifically, the course runs a total distance of 5667 metres and is set over 69 acres. At CGC, you can also find a practice fairway and putting green, clubhouse, fully licensed bar, buggies and carts available for hire; in addition to the resident professional Anthony Rowlings. As mentioned, CGC has a fully licensed bar and can therefore open themselves to the public, unlike many other clubs. This enables the club to hold public functions such as weddings, parties, etc.
The Claremont Golf Club has a target market of both males and females aged between 35 – 45 years of age. Currently there are approximately 580 members.
